Bethel Plantations Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in 2011 and has been carrying on the business of Tea, coffee, pepper, cardamom, clove, rubber, tourism etc. in South India. Bethel is holding six Tea gardens with coffee, pepper, cardmom, clove etc and one Rubber Estate with oil palm.
Within short period from its incorporation, Bethel Plantations Pvt. Ltd. has became one of the biggest Black Tea producer in South India spread over nearly 6,000 acres in Iduki District. The core team consist of highly qualified 40 professionals, 250 supporting staff and almost 3000 workers.
Besides the traditional plantation business, the company had diversified activities such as Organic Farming, Tourism, Diary farm etc. The estate is being on the process of uprooting of tea in a phased manner and being replanted with high yield varieties. The factory is also being upgraded and modernized extensively.


India is the world's largest producer of cardamom and Kerala contributes the lion's share.The cardamom of Malabar is considered the best in the world. In fact,today only cardamom from Kerala is used for any medicinal purposes in the West. Apart from its medicinal qualities, has a pleasing flavour and aroma that makes it a chief condiment for tea, cool drinks, confectionaries and sweetmeats, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. At 750-1000 m above sea level the wooded Western Ghats are the home of the cardamom. The hills of Idukki district, which is the main cultivator of the spice, are called Cardamom Hills All cardamom plantations were in Iduki district only.

Pepper requires a warm and humid climate. Though an annual rainfall of 250 cm is ideal for the proper growth of the crop, it can also come up well in low rainfall areas, if the pattern and distribution of rainfall are conducive. About 70 mm of rainfall within a period of 20 days may be sufficient for triggering of flushing and flowering process in the plant, but once the process is set on, there should be continuous, though not heavy, rainfall until fruit development starts Our high yielding vines are a source of pleasure to watch and a greater source of pleasure for the income it generates.

The active ingredient in coffee is caffeine which serves in blocking the effects of an inhibitory neurotransmitter called Adenosine in the brain thereby increasing neuronal firing in the brain and the release of other neurotransmitters like dopamine and nor epinephrine Out of the total Coffee export from India the highest contribution is from Cochin port .Coffee production in Kerala is projected to touch 59,000 tonnes in 2009-10. A mix of selected clones from among Arabica and Robusta variety planted at appropriate spacing taking different planting zones and altitudes into account is what we have in our Plantations.
